You’re cordially invited….
to come celebrate the artistic achievements of the City School District of Albany Art Department at our 4th Annual Elementary Art Show from May 5-7, 2017 at the Albany Institute of History & Art. Albany City students and their families will have free admission all weekend to come see our very special student art
Please come to the opening reception to be held at the Albany Institute of History & Art, 125 Washington Avenue, Albany, on 1st Friday, May 5th, from 5-8 pm in the 3rd floor Key Cultural Center. All 12 Albany City elementary schools will be showcasing exemplary works of art in both 2 and 3-dimensions.
Students from the City School District of Albany Music Department will also be performing. We are featuring the Myers Brass and the Myers Woodwind Quartets under the Band direction of Mr. Prylo beginning at 5:15 pm in the atrium. At 6:00 pm our Albany City Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Interim

The City School District of Albany Art Department’s Mission is to educate students within an enriching, intellectually stimulating, and personally relevant program. Creativity develops visual literacy, aesthetics, art analysis, critical thinking and discovery, as well as, promotes cultural, social, technological, and global connections through 21st Century teaching methodology.
The City School District of Albany Superintendent’s Arts Advisory Committee Mission is to build creative relationships and share resources together with the CSDA stakeholders, community organizations, and arts professionals in order to provide essential connections and life-long opportunities between education and the arts.
